1944 in the City of Roses... But this is not the Portland, Oregon, you (the reader) know and love. It's not even the same world, for that matter. No, this world in which our hero resides is one where 90% of the population is gay while 10% is not. At the heart of it all is our hero, one Mickey Lang. Lang is a private dick and a beau of her word who, like the Mounties, always gets her man. Mickey is about to blow the lid off the biggest case of her career and come to the realization that victory doesn't mean a hill of beans if you don't have anyone to share it with. Enter Patrice Richards, successful night club owner and one fiery dame! These two have been long-time friends who often "drink from the same bottle." However, Mickey realizes after a close call with some local thugs that she wants more. So read along and see if Mickey solves that case and manages to get the dame ... without getting croaked!
