I've been working my entire life towards tonight...

Tonight, I will finally take my place as an attendant to a Vampire Lord. Years of training, shadowing my eldest cousin Bear and listening to my other cousin Hawk- before he left- talk about the events and the Vampires. It has all led to this.

But things are not going the way I thought they would. Lord Darrian seems unhappy with having me take Hawk's place from the first moment. He thinks I am too young. He thinks this is a mistake.

And it seems as though Bear has left out a great deal of training and preparation. A very great deal...
