Overview

20-year-old Nadia is happy to accompany her boyfriend Zeke's family on a weeklong California vacation, taking in the sights, soaking in the rays, and getting to know the Ramirez family better.

But Zeke's mom, Michelle, is suspicious of Nadia's intentions and protective of her only child, keeping the young blonde shut out at an insurmountable distance, despite the young woman's best efforts to bond with her.

On the final night of their trip, Nadia and Michelle find themselves alone at a restaurant table, watching the sunset over the Pacific Ocean, when they are approached by a mysterious woman selling individual roses.

In a gesture of good will, Nadia buys Michelle a flower, with an important warning from the seller: "these roses are for lovers only."

Unfortunately, neither woman speaks Spanish.
