Alexis “Lex” Archer is a handsome and popular shot caller at Rose Hill Women’s Correctional. Lex spends her days playing cards and making money with her crew. Lex is happily in love with her girlfriend, Chyna Reed, a streetwise tough girl, locked up for drug trafficking.

One day, Lex’s ex-girlfriend, Isabella “Bella” Blackwell, arrives at Rose Hill after transferring from Ironwood, a maximum security prison. Bella and Lex had a stormy relationship at Ironwood, due to Bella’s hot temper and manipulative nature.

Bella is used to getting what she wants, and what she wants is Lex. Will Bella be able to steal Lex away from Chyna?

Ling Walters is the pen name of a formerly incarcerated woman. Released in 2024, she spent her time in prison writing stories about the women around her. Walters draws on her time spent in prison to create these skillfully woven, institutional narratives, and true-to-life characters. Although these stories are fictional, they are based on real situations, and real people. Ling enjoys writing, spending time with her cat, and arts and crafts. As a recovering addict, and survivor of abuse, she hopes to bring attention to the very real problems faced by incarcerated women.
