Max survived kidnapping and imprisonment. Will he survive freedom? Max hates people. Or he hates people like his kidnappers, the jerks who snatched him to steal the supernatural power hidden within him. After surviving that experience, he’s better off alone. But when bad people won’t leave him alone and he encounters a psycho coven of fire worshipers, maybe he could use someone trustworthy on his side. When fox shifter Lysander Temple and other supernatural agents show up to rescue Max, they’re too late to help. Max has already saved himself, though he isn’t exactly sure how. His mysterious powers are only the beginning of his unanswered questions, and the detective feels compelled to help solve this puzzle. Earning Max’s trust isn’t easy, so Lysander can’t let his romantic feelings ruin things between them. Both men find the past difficult to escape even as they contemplate building a future together.
