Crossing The Lines

Hayden Vaughn has been a 911 dispatcher for the last eight years. She works hard at her job, and loves being able to make a difference in many people’s lives, but she is frustrated with the never-ending lack of support and acknowledgment for a job well done.

While her co-workers continue to receive praise and accolades for doing mediocre work, Hayden decides she needs to start living a more dangerous and exciting life. Using knowledge she has gleaned from her job, she commits a series of petty crimes, right under the nose of the law enforcement agency she’s been working for.

Eliza Connor is a respected Sheriff’s Deputy for the Ezra County Sheriff’s Department. She has harbored a crush on dispatcher Hayden Vaughn for a long time, but has never had the courage to act on it.

When their personal and professional lives mix, red flags are raised and Hayden and Eliza find themselves mixed up in trying to cover Hayden’s tracks. When a complaint is filed towards the department from one of Hayden’s victims, an internal investigation is launched, led by a relentless officer, who also happens to be the husband of Hayden’s arch nemesis in dispatch, Darla Tate.

With Eliza’s help, Hayden is able to put the past behind her, and focus on improving herself and keeping her job. But when promotions come about, and Hayden and Eliza are both chosen, it causes Darla to conduct her own behind the scenes investigation, leading her to find out Hayden was behind the crimes all along. When Eliza is put in to an even more compromising position, she needs to decide if she values her relationship more than her reputation.
