Downloading Fire Woman

The woman smiled widened. "I wish I could stay around for the fireworks, but I think it would best if I were gone. But don't worry, this will be over soon." She took a drag from the cigarette, dropping it into a pile of vodka-soaked papers. She made her way down the hall before entering the stairwell, stepping out into the second floor. Her hand reached for the fire alarm. The screeching of the alarm distracted the building manager, making her exit go unnoticed. The woman was already three blocks down before she heard the first of the fire trucks lumbering down the street. Once again, things had gone exactly as planned.By the next day, she would be on to the next job. Starting over with a new appearance, new name and a new identity.
