Not Sorry (A Mountain to Coast Romance Book 1)

What could possibly happen when an ex-con finds her way into the home of a reclusive lottery winner?

This unlikely meeting in the North Georgia mountains leads to Not Sorry’s story of trust, romance, love, growth and forgiveness.

Days after her release from prison, Monty finds her way on the Appalachian Trail to take shelter under a nearby porch of a reclusive millionaire, Liz, during a rainstorm. Liz gives Monty an opportunity with some handyperson chores in exchange for food and shelter. Monty’s self-confidence grows, and she seeks employment at the nearby community store. The store owner’s daughter, Sarah, attempts to frame Monty for theft. Caught up in a domestic dispute, Monty saves Sarah. Monty’s attorney recognizes her abilities, and Monty takes a temporary consulting job in New York City with her attorney’s firm. Will Liz and Monty’s relationship fizzle as they are each confronted with the separation and resulting temptations?

About Ann Tonnell

Ann Tonnell is a retired registered nurse who began writing in retirement while caring for her mother. Before her twenty-plus years in nursing, she worked as a typesetter and managed her own composition firm. She lives with her wife in a small North Georgia mountain community just a few hundred yards from the Appalachian Trail.

In remission from thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP), from which she sustained a stroke, she recognizes that life is precious and temporary. While the stroke’s sequalae are minimal, they are reminders of the gift to be able to tell the stories she now writes.

She is a DIY dabbler, an avid cloud admirer, and considers herself a master of nothing. She enjoys birding, fine dining, fine wine, and mixology, hanging out with friends, traveling, walking and hiking, and cycling.

For a 65th birthday bucket list item in 2019, she rode her bicycle from Calais, ME, to Bridgeport, CT, and then from just south of Savannah, GA, to Key West, FL. The middle section was interrupted by parent deaths and then by COVID. In October 2022, the Bridgeport to Savannah section was halted following an abrupt encounter with pavement in Philadelphia and the resulting broken arm.
