When Brad decides that he’s going to break up with Julia in front of his new girlfriend, not only is Julia upset, she’s embarrassed about it, wondering what she had done that was so wrong to make Brad leave, wondering if something was the matter with her. She knew it was coming, but she was hoping that Brad would have a change of heart, that he would change his mind and want to stay with her instead of running around with Carly. That evening Julia realizes that she doesn’t like the fact that she’s alone and, since her neighbor had already invited her over during any hour of the day, she walked to next door and rang the doorbell.
