Sydney Ruysch is sick of adult responsibilities. She just broke up with her long-time girlfriend Violet and her job sorting through donations at a second-hand store sucks the life out of her. A strange trunk proves a brief, exciting distraction, but soon turns dull again when it proves to be filled only with old shoes and books. Her life only worsens when she learns her band, Sweater Weather, has lost their drummer. But then an old pair of shoes changes her luck, and Sydney winds up their new drummer just in time for a competition. The shoes also bring strange dreams, however, and a mystery that always seems to lead back to her shoes.
