In a land of endless summer, trouble is brewing. With magic outlawed and offenders systematically executed, the people of Ellery are kept under strict orders to never stray from the path the Summer King lays before them. The servants, soldiers, and stable-hands in the castle know the boundaries of the king's goodwill all too well. Bonded by their servitude, a group of fast friends are faced with a choice as a wave of brutal murders shatters the illusion of peace in the to remain complacent in the face of oppression or summon the courage to stand together and fight for a brighter future. But the cost of their defiance may prove higher than they ever imagined.
