Victoria Rivas has a well-established publishing career and has always managed to keep her feet firmly on the ground. Micaela de Luca is the breakout writer of the moment, with an ego as grand as a cathedral. Victoria and Micaela meet at an event, and their mutual disdain is immediate. Knives fly between them just as quickly as biting remarks escape their lips. When their mutual publisher comes up with the disastrous idea for them to co-write a book, none of the numerous objections from the arch-rivals can dissuade him. Almost without time to process it, they find themselves locked away in a writers' retreat where nothing can disturb them, forced to finish the job as soon as possible. Both are writers.
