Downloading Emma

On a mild summer evening, Alex, a solitary surfer and company director, visits Nicolas, her partner and best friend. On his doorstep, she runs into Emma, his younger sister, whom she hasn't seen in years. Although the young woman has changed a lot, she seems lonely and idle. Her swollen eye and cut lip, together with her despondent bearing and lowered head, do not augur well.

Driven by her natural empathy to protect her, Alex offers her help.
