Overview

As the head of an all-female band in 1970s California, Emma Skye's reality is suddenly interrupted when the lead singer and love of her life dies. Emma struggles to find the motivation to go on while her best friend and bandmate Stacey is losing patience with her inability to move forward and her disinterest in their career. Their relationship is further strained by their unresolved attraction to one another. When a high-profile agency offers to sign the band and finish what they started, Emma doesn’t know if she wants to be a part of the music again, and has to face the possibility that maybe she never did. Despite her best intentions, Emma seems to be unable to make a good decision, and with a shady CEO pressing for her to make a deal, a new love who can't make up her mind, the return of a figure from the past, and what appears to be her dead girlfriend’s ghost in the mix, things are getting complicated. Faint Glow is the first book in a trilogy by writer Kristen Stark. It features mainly lesbian characters, and explores how they preserve their relationships while navigating a nebulous new reality. Despite appearances, however, maybe all is not lost.
