Journalism is a cutthroat world. Even for a small news company in Colorado, where Kelly Brown and I work.
But even though we’re both reporters, we couldn’t hate each other more if we tried.
I’m an aggressive go-getter and I always get what I want.

Both of our careers have stalled. Until one day when I get a tip.
There’s an animal shelter out there discriminating against gay couples and ripping them off. I know in my heart that this is a big story that needs to be told. But I can’t get close enough to dig at this story alone.
