Overview

The woman I love is changing. Dove's chasing her dreams, finally doing things she's always wanted to do. And I love watching her grow.

But I am also scared. Scared she'll grow so much that the town we live in and the life we share will no longer be enough. Those are the thoughts that haunt me as she spends a week in London for meetings.

And I know it's me, not her. I know I've got to work on my own confidence. I know I've got to remind myself to trust her, to have faith in her, to believe in us.

But I also know I can't lose her. I waited fourteen years for this, I don't want to wait anymore. Which is why I'm going to ask her to marry me. Tomorrow, on Christmas Day, when she's back from her trip and we're finally alone together, just the two of us.

And yet, as it happens we aren't alone on Christmas - Mari, my child, is there having a mini meltdown of their own - and little do I know Dove has a very big surprise all of her own...
