Overview

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Rina Kent comes a scorching standalone professor/student dark MM romance set in the world of Legacy of Gods.

My darkness meets a darker soul.

I’m a golden boy.
A genius law student, the heir to the Carson empire, and the dutiful son.
Or, at least, that's what it looks like from the outside.
Deep inside, I have the urge to set the world on fire.
I keep these impulses in check, rarely indulging in mayhem.
Until one night of debauchery backfires, and I'm caught by a villain.
I bury the entire ordeal with the rest of my skeletons.
That is, until that night walks into my classroom in the form of my new professor.
Kayden Lockwood.
A criminal who’s teaching criminal law.
I can't expose what he's done without unmasking my secret life.
What I can do, however, is force him to taste the poison he gave me. In the clash of titans, Kayden and I break and crumble.
And I'm starting to realize this dangerous game may have no winners.

This book was everything and more!
Student professor, age gap, enemies to lovers with amazing tension. What more could you want in an MM romance?
The Little monster and his Villain were perfection.

3.5 stars I actually did love Gareths character which really was the mix of Landon and killian at the end of the day but I loved when he got vulnerable and needy with Kayden it was cute. Despite the plot being recycled I actually did enjoy reading the book and u get to meet Nikobran again I actually am exited for the next books in the series

this book wasn't a total train wreck, and it had its moments, but honestly, it could've been so much better. The first few chapters didn't grab me, and the author kept repeating info throughout the book – like, we get it already! One thing I really liked was Gareth. He felt real and consistent. He stuck to his guns, which was cool to see. But Kayden? Meh. He felt like a side character for way too long. We didn't get any real backstory on him until way late in the game. The chemistry between them was fire, no complaints there! But I wanted more relationship development; it felt like they were stuck in the same place for a long time. Plus, the pacing was all over the place. Sometimes I was hooked, and other times I was just bored.
The plot itself? It needed more oomph. The villain felt cartoonish, and the whole thing just lacked a satisfying payoff. Basically, the book had potential, and Gareth was a standout, but the plot, the characters' reasons for doing things, and the pacing all felt wonky. It was like a bunch of good ideas that never quite clicked together.
