Dillon gives his undead life purpose by putting it on the line while hunting any vampires who kill the innocent humans of his city. The newest blood-thirsty resident in Pittsburgh, Mistress Serena, destroys the peace of the city one murder at a time. To complicate matters, one of her blood slaves is a striking young human male who triggers all his dangerously repressed hungers.

Jason expects Serena to kill him, and after years of suffering, he is ready to surrender that final blood drop. But at the last moment he is suddenly given away to a huge, strange vampire with unknown intentions. Then again does it really matter which creature finally drains him?

When protecting Jason becomes Dillon's new purpose, he’ll have to defeat the cruel ancient vampire in order to protect his lover and his city. Will he be strong enough to accept his own needs? Or will he succumb to his darkest desires in the heat of battle and become a depraved monster like those he hunts?
