It should've been a good time for Sadie Hall. Business is running smoothly at her bakery, and her best friend Tillie just moved back to their small hometown permanently. An upcoming baking festival and competition, which Sadie is fully prepared for, promises to bring even more customers to her small business. Yet despite everything that seems to be going right, Sadie is feeling more conflicted than she has in years. There's a simple, clear, and utterly annoying explanation for her troubles: she's lonely. Despite, or perhaps because of, having her childhood best friend back in town, Sadie's feelings of loneliness begin to interfere with her daily life. Even her new friend from knitting class, Jane Myers, hasn't made a real difference. Yet as the baking competition grows nearer, events put Jane down on her luck, bringing her and Sadie much, much closer together. Literally. As Sadie grapples with her feelings of loneliness, she begins to notice other feelings too. Inappropriate, unbidden feelings for Jane she simply can't deal with at the moment. There's the baking festival to prepare for, and besides, Jane is interested in Tillie anyway. Right? Will Sadie be able to win the best dessert competition at the festival? Does Jane mean more than just a friend to her? And what's the best way to eat an ice cream? Find out in "Love At First Bite," an utterly goofy, lighthearted romance about friendship, women who love women, and blueberry cobbler.
