Overview

Its been 7 years since Sergeant Chris White was undercover at Westwood Academy and met Dr Alex Carello. Seven years in which they’ve married, had a child together, and both been promoted, Chris to Inspector and Alex to Head Teacher. Compared to her past Alex feels happy, settled and safe.

When Superintendent Gary Hamilton approaches Chris for a further undercover operation, she is initially reluctant given her changed circumstances. But the task to infiltrate those in Her Majesty’s Prison Addington that are running a paedophile ring is something she can’t in conscience refuse. Chris finds herself once again drawn into a world of secrecy, abuse and fear.

Josephine Williams, a fellow Officer, is there to protect Chris; but to keep her safe it has to look like Jo is in control, and that they are more than just friends.

Alex is left helpless on the outside. Having witnessed her commitment to her work up close she knows and fears the lengths Chris will go to. When communication from the prison breaks down and she suspects Chris is in danger, Alex offers to assist within the prison. Alex is determined to free Chris, whatever it means for her, even when it takes her far from her comfort zone.
