My dream Christmas didn't include my life in Boston falling apart. It didn't include having to go back to my hometown of Frostdale, Maine, moving in with a stranger from the internet, and it really didn't include getting a job as a mall elf.

But unfortunately, life doesn't care about plans.

But my new roommate, Seth, drew me to him immediately. He was warm. He was friendly. He was a little annoying with all the questions he asked about my life. The more I got to know him, the more drawn to him I was. It was like he awakened something in me, something I don't want to let go of.

I didn't expect him to be at the top of my Christmas list.

I remembered Aiden from high school, though we'd never interacted much. He was the quiet kid in the library who left after he graduated. When he emailed about the empty room in my apartment, I didn't know what to expect. He was my polar opposite: quieter than I was and closed up tight.

But the more I got to know him, the more I realized that we had a lot in common. We even got assigned matching names at Santa's Village. Before long, I found myself wanting to know everything about him. I found myself thinking about him in ways I'd never thought about any other guy before.

Now, all I want for Christmas is my new roommate.
