Overview

Meg doesn't believe in ghosts. And yet... One night in a foggy St. Augustine cemetery, Meghan Thomas is startled by a beautiful woman who seems to have stepped out of Florida's Spanish past. Stunned, but thinking the woman needs help, Meg follows her - only to discover she has disappeared. The incident leaves Meg unnerved, but it's only the beginning of what happens next: faint footsteps in her apartment at night, the sound of small items scraping across surfaces, and furniture that seems to have moved of its own accord. And then one day - among the graceful palm trees and historic buildings of the oldest city in the U.S. - Meg seems to be the only one who sees the sensual woman in the black mantilla and long red skirt moving through the ancient coquina streets. Meg follows, not knowing the way leads to a mystery - and the woman who will change her life forever. Thrilling, sexy, and romantic, Moon over St. Augustine is a slow burn f/f romance and is the first novel in the lesbian romantic thriller series, Moon over America. Romantic, suspenseful, and funny. The book gripped me by Chapter 1 and I didn't want to stop." "Two feminine, beautiful women. The love scenes are... wow." "The writing puts me in the scene and the characters grow and I get attached. The women are daring and heroic in a womanly way - protective, loyal, supportive." Chapter 1 It was the hour that lent itself to ghost stories. The night - pitch black and overcast - had unrolled a thick mist from the sea. In the ancient cemetery where she stood, the fog's bony-white fingers had interlaced themselves among the thin headstones and monuments. Meghan leaned against her passenger van and smiled to herself. This tour was going to get great reviews online. Meghan zipped her jacket against the breeze. It was a chilly night for summer in St. Augustine, Florida. In the distance, she heard the voices of the tour group conferring with each other. She always let Dave lead this part of the tour; his sincere enthusiasm was palpable and contagious. After a couple of minutes, the group's flashlights switched off and they grew quiet. Dave led the group away, deeper into the historic cemetery. No one was better at this part than Dave. Nevertheless, she hoped he would be careful. The last thing she wanted was for one of the tour group to wander off and blindly fall into an open grave. Meg finished her coffee and locked the van. She figured she had time to walk to the trash receptacle near the front gate to toss her cup. She could get there and back in about ten minutes, and it would feel good to stretch her legs a little. She would never be missed. She cut a path across the cemetery, looking for the narrow utility road that would take her straight to the gate. Cemeteries never bothered her, even at night, but her low heels sank into the moist ground as she walked, making her gate unsteady. As she threaded her way through the tombstones, their engravings gazed up at her - Alvaro Velazquez, 1732-1799. Esposa Amada, Camila Suarez, 1781-1838. Thiago Abila, 1769-1839 - dates and names that hinted at St. Augustine's Spanish heritage and its standing as the oldest city in the United States. After a few minutes, the fog had grown deeper. Meghan felt she should have reached the utility road by now, but she was no longer in a part of the cemetery that was familiar to her. In fact, she couldn't see more than a few yards ahead.*
