Overview

Most people fear the maenads. They live in the hills of Ios, worshiping the god Thyone. They are said to be monsters, with magical abilities and supernatural strength. Sibyl does not fear the maenads. In fact, she admires them. It isn’t long before she is discovered by a Priestess of Thyone, Dianne, who declares that Sibyl has been chosen by the god to be a priestess, too. With Dianne’s guidance, she is initiated as a Priestess of Thyone, and must find a way to understand her new identity while grappling with issues such as newfound powers, enemies over the horizon, watchful gods, and the troubles of the heart. Sibyl’s fate is forever intertwined with those of the gods - the one to whom she belongs, and others, whether she knows it or not.
