Fifteen years ago, I kissed my straight best friend. It’s not exactly a surprise when he tells me he doesn’t share my feelings, but it still hurts. Sure, some might have called it nothing more than a teenage crush, but I think I loved him. Luckily, moving five hundred miles away for college and many years has healed my broken heart. Mostly.

When Colt walks back into my life, it feels like the ghost of lovers past has come to haunt me. It’s nice to have my friend back, especially since now that we can hang out without curfews and homework. I know we’ve both changed a lot, but somehow things feel the same.

The problem? I think I’m falling for him all over again. Oh, and one more it turns out Colt is gay.
