Delta Stevens is known for pushing the envelope when it comes to her police work. But when a child ends up dead, both she and her methods are suddenly put under intense scrutiny. Transferred to a training position, she finds herself saddled with a macho rookie and a captain watching her every move.

Unfortunately, a new criminal syndicate bent on abusing children forces Delta back into the line of fire. Will walking the razor's edge between playing by the rules and going full-on vigilante prove too much to handle? Can she somehow find a way to take down these criminals, keep her job, and balance her rocky relationships... Or is that life Not in the Cards?
