Overview

Welcome to Hardwood Beach, the best beach with a ridiculous name on Lake Michigan. Where if the wind and waves don’t carry you away, your heart certainly will.

Adam

I’m done with men. After going through exactly one hundred guys, I’m certain there’s something wrong with me. That’s why I packed up and took myself to the lake cabin. I needed a summer to just work on me without any hint of romance.

However, my resolve for a boy-free summer quickly fades when a lost dog finds me on the trail and leads me back to his gorgeous owner, Mateo. He’s unlike anyone I’ve ever met. And he’s blind. But somehow, he sees me better than anyone else and the heat between us is electric and irresistible.

When my friends tell me I need to practice being open and honest in a relationship, I immediately think of Mateo. To my surprise, he agrees to be my fake boyfriend as long as we both get the bedroom benefits to go with it. Everything quickly becomes easy, fun, and full of long nights wrapped in each other's arms.

There’s only one problem: I think I'm falling in love with him.

Mateo

For the past five years it’s just been me and my seeing eye dog, Bessie. I tried to date, but once a guy finds out I’m blind, he’s gone. So I just gave up, resolving to be happy alone despite what anyone else says. However, when Bessie returns with a gorgeous man in tow, I find myself completely smitten.

However, it’s obvious Adam has a boatload of baggage. But the sound of his smile enchants me and a single hand on his cheek tells me he’s about as handsome as they come. It was all too easy to fall into bed with him once he suggest a fake relationship. The only problem is, I'm falling for him.

How do I convince Adam to give me the chance to make him happy when he's made it clear our relationship is only temporary?

Tropes: fake relationship, blind MC, a dog brings them together, hurt/comfort, grumpy/sunshine, beach romance
