Emmett has always loved it in Lola’s garden – from the first time his mother had brought him over when he was barely able to toddle between the thick clusters of flowers. it smells alive and earthy and wet and everything glistens like some sort of blurry, magical fairy realm.

But the garden holds memories ... of a gentle, grandmotherly woman who Emmett would miss every day for the rest of his life. And of Jay. The first boy he'd kissed. The first boy he'd loved.

The garden holds hope too. When Jay comes back to Rock Bay for the first time in years, he finds Emmett in Lola's garden, almost like he'd never left. As the days go by, Jay and Emmett start to wonder if their love is meant to be buried in the hazy days of long gone past ... of it it's finally time for it to take root and grow.
