Overview

Marie is a devoted mother to her twelve-year-old son. But when an out-of-town soccer tournament takes her across the state line, she’s less than enthusiastic about her weekend prospects. Marie is indifferent to soccer and isn’t a big fan of the sport’s culture or the other parents of the boys on the team. She is even less enchanted with the team mom, the insufferable Kendall Sullivan. In Marie’s mind, Kendall Sullivan is an unlikable, overly organized twit, reminiscent of a condescending grade-school librarian—although there’s no denying her good looks.

Nevertheless, Marie sets her disappointments aside and puts on a smile, intending to devote the weekend to her son’s sporting activities. When an apparent mix-up in lodging reservations leaves Kendall without a room, she insists that Marie share her comfy accommodations.
