Tracy is a gay man with a degree in philosophy and a pressing need to make the rent. When he's offered a job working for a landscaping company, he takes it, despite his misgivings. He might be small, but he's strong and no stranger to physical labor. And it at least pays the bills — sort of. It doesn't hurt that Drew, his boss, isn’t bad looking. Neither, for that matter, are the other guys on the crew, though he would never, of course, date someone he works with, especially his boss. He’s not that stupid.
Drew, for his part, is glad to have one more man. Especially someone as smart and quick to learn as Tracy. And while Drew's rarely attracted to men, Tracy's his exact type: slender, smart-mouthed, and way too clever -- and, like Drew himself, utterly devoid of jealousy and insatiable in his appetite for pleasure. But, of course, Drew would never date an employee. He’s not that stupid.
Besides, they have nothing in common. Other than mutual attraction. Weird, seething, intense mutual attraction.
But as they wrestle with that attraction, trouble sprouts. Drew’s past is dark, darker than Tracy knows, and his trust issues have roots in reality.
