Yasha I avoid my family the same way I do bad frickin' coffee. But sometimes, because it just might be all you’ve got, you have no choice except to make do with what you have... Right now, I must be here on the blue, blue shores of Cape Town, South Africa. Otherwise, frankly, I wouldn’t be here. I'm more than prepared to leave this place for good after the "family reunion" is over. Except on the very day I'm set to depart, I spot a familiar woman who’s submerged in the sea. It’s been a while since I’ve set my eyes on her, but she’s still incredible, still captivating. She still has that same soul-altering smile. In that moment, all my immediate life plans seem to drift off with the warm salty breeze. And I find I'm unable to escape this place until I find out what the vicious pull to Everly, which I can never seem to break free from after all these years, truly means. Everly In my eyes, life is simple. It's the people you choose to have in yours who make it complicated. I remain here for the simplicity, and of course, to be near the ocean. Because there isn't any other place in the world I’d rather be. I'm a woman who loves when things are easy. It’s why I prefer to be alone. It’s why when she left so long ago, I dove headfirst into work and never looked back. I never questioned a thing... Because deep down, I knew she was never going to return to this place. To our home. It’s exactly why I never searched for her too. And honestly, I thought if I ever saw her again, I’d feel nothing. I wanted to feel nothing. I had to feel nothing. Thing is, it's quite the opposite… Because as soon as she steps in my immediate space and I breathe in the familiar scent of her skin, I end up feeling a lot more than I'm certain my heart has the ability to handle. My life is at risk. I know at some random point in the future that I'll curse the day when Yasha had came back here. Because I know that I'll look back and realize that as soon as she did, my life quickly went from being simple, and then once again became anything but…
