Overview

Gail has raced at Briarview Park and Tracks before, with her goblin girlfriend and jockey Jisi riding on her shoulders. But they've never run a race like this.

From a strict inspection by racetrack officials to make sure they're not using performance-enhancing substances (they are), through the streets of humanlaw, and into the borderland forests where the trees are booby-trapped and goblins with crossbows lie in wait for the unwary, Jisi and Gail will need to use all their skills, magic, and teamwork to win.

Because this time, they're not just racing for love of the game, or for the perverse rewards that await Gail in the winner's circle, but for the favor of the queen of goblinlaw herself!

(Of course goblinlaw has a queen. If nobody's in charge, who are goblins not listening to when they do whatever they want?)
