In the year 1720, Penelope Watts, daughter of Lord Rodrick Watts, chairman of the East India Company, finds herself yearning to escape London. Left fending off countless attempts to subjugate her to marriage, Penelope abandons her father amid a company ball. Packing nothing aside from few personal items, she smuggles herself onto a merchant ship heading east. Wandering the Atlantic on the last of her supplies, Captain Ann Price combats a rebellious crew of miscreants ready for mutiny. The favor gained from months of success slowly dissipates as prizes run dry. In hopes of a new score, Ann leaps on the first merchant ship that comes into the horizon, unaware of the passenger it holds. After failing to remain hidden during a boarding, Penelope soon finds herself as a guest in the quarters of one Ann Price. As the pair discover a common disdain for the company, they reach an agreement for passage. Yet unbeknownst to Penelope, Ann’s intentions go far beyond assisting her escape her father. The pirate throne of Nassau is ripe for the taking, and Penelope may just be what Ann needs to seize it.
