“You seemed,” lips grazed her earlobe, “a bit tense tonight.” Elena shivered as a warm swirl of air caressed her ear, followed by the gentlest of kisses. “I thought that perhaps a ‘thank you’ was in order for the person who crafted such splendor for us to enjoy this evening.”
Elena inhaled audibly. A warm hand slid over her hip and settled on her lower belly, the arm tugging her back possessively until she fit into the curve of the taller person’s body. Her head swam as generous breasts pressed into her shoulders. Elena was certain they had not met before – she would have remembered the accent, mostly Italian with the lilt of Portuguese on some vowels.

The king has tasked Elena with planning a series of dazzling events to celebrate his tenth year on the throne. However, a mysterious, tantalizing woman threatens to distract Elena as she endeavors to impress hundreds of royal guests with increasingly luxurious events.
