Overview

This is a post-apocalyptic, sometimes comedic, adventure novella with a perpetually annoyed, gay heroine who somehow ends up having to save what's left of the known world. It's several centuries after the nuclear apocalypse and Blue Rodgers is fed up. After humanity crawled out of the bunkers and built a new civilisation in the middle of the ocean, life should have been simple. Radioactive, admittedly, but straightforward. As an ocean binman and stubborn Down Below resident, Blue collects garbage and keeps the stone fundament of the Up Above from eroding. But when a mysterious black box blows up in her face, the police and her cantankerous former mentor Big Manta aren't her only vexations. Terrorists, sea monsters, and the machinations of coveted and enticing inventor Emerald Jade threaten to drown her like a vortex. Can Blue do enough to stave off disaster or will she be swept away by the currents herself?
