Life was stupidly hard enough, but when tragedy strikes Mika’s life, her high school world is flipped over and stepped on, hard. Aunt Val moving in sucks even more than she thought it would too. There’s just no way forward. Until the right girl shows up, that is.

Willow has it all. Popular, pretty, and perky, she’s got senior year wrapped up in a hot little bow. Mika can’t imagine why Willow not only wants to be her friend but is also determined to have her back. When feelings start to bloom between them, Mika wonders if just maybe things will be okay…

The world doesn’t work like that though, and when Mika is betrayed by her family and learns secrets that upend everything yet again, she isn’t sure how to get through. Can she find the strength to overcome and be the person she wants to be, or will she end up being forced into being someone she doesn’t recognize?
