Overview

Helen Sampson has a dream: to create a serum capable of bettering humanity. She wants humans to have better vision, enhanced hearing, a superior sense of smell, and vastly stronger bodies. For eighteen months, she's researched such a serum; and now, at the home stretch, her funding has been terminated.

Yet Helen refuses to give up on her dream. With nothing left but her notes, an experimental sample of the serum, and her own convictions, Helen decides to test her miraculous formula on herself. And it works! Helen finds herself running faster, hearing more, and experiencing the world through wonderful new eyes.

However. the serum brings other, stranger changes. Helen finds an unusual amount of body hair growing in. Her eyes change color. It's a small price to pay for gaining such wonderful abilities; though Helen has to hide the changes from her wife, Gwen, lest Gwen worry about Helen's recklessness. It's only temporary though; Helen made the serum, and she's sure she can find a way to counter the side effects. Before they get too serious, anyway...
