Overview

While the King and his armies are away the kingdom of Caranthrir faces many threats. With a rash of terrifying and bizarre murders in the capital putting strain on Queen Brunhilde and the tenuous peace she is desperately trying to maintain, she also has to contend with a series of horrifying nightmares and an openly contemptuous court. Now may not be the best time to start an illicit romance with her handmaiden, Sophie. Larger forces are afoot, threatening to change not only Caranthrir and its Queen but the entire realm, and Brunhilde must fight to defend her people. With her lover at her side Brunhilde is ready to face all these threats and more.
