Overview

Deryn and Slat flee from their home, driven out by a hateful mob and a mage. Their only hope is the Savage Lands, ruled over by equally savage orcs, or so they have been told all of their lives. Still, anything is better than facing the mob chasing them, and they just about make it, only stopped by the mage in pursuit, but things take a very different turn than anyone mob and mage included.

A new life awaits Deryn and Slat, something far better and more freeing than they ever thought possible. And those savage orcs? Well, most of what they were told ends up being almost completely wrong. After all, orcs are only savage in the bedroom.
