She’s no longer the shy, nerdy girl she used to be, and I can’t believe I never noticed her before.

I’m not a lesbian. At least, I don’t think I am. But when a group of my old friends and I meet up only to run into Brooklyn, the shy girl from before college, I’m too stunned to speak. She’s gorgeous and far from shy. In fact, she seems to have found herself in ways I’m still struggling with. Maybe that’s what draws me to her. Maybe that’s what gives me the urge to apologize on behalf of those that teased her years ago.

But my apology quickly turns into a coffee date that intensifies from there. Soon, I’m learning more about Brooklyn than ever. When she asks if I’m curious about women, I don’t know how to tell her that I’m not so much curious about trying out women as I am curious about trying out her.
