Lena Bishop is a driven ER doctor. After the death of her wife she put a halt to all things love related. Afterall, no one gets that lucky twice in a lifetime. Her days and nights revolve around her job. Then one night during a rain storm she stumbles across a cafe that is supposed to be closed. The cafe owner, Brynn is kind and takes pity on the soaking wet Lena. She invites her in and fixes her dinner. Dating might be off the table but surely Lena could stand a friendship. But the more time she spends with Brynn the harder it is for Lena to avoid falling for the woman.

Brynn is immediately entranced by the attractive ER doctor. Lena has been coming for dinner with her after the cafe closes most nights. But Brynn respects Lena’s no dating rule. As time passes Lena realizes her heart won’t allow her to simply remain just friends with Brynn. Will she take another chance on love? Or will Lena try to protect her heart?
