Vampire Fess had always been a bit of a ladie's man, ever since being turned into one of the walking, talking, biting dead. But when he ends up unexpectedly back on the Earth whilst trying to kidnap his newly mated ex, he bumps into a tall, dark, handsome, auburn-haired man who would take his urm...breath away.
If he had any that is.
Not quite red hair, not quite brown, but oh most definitely meant for him and him alone to caress, touch, play with...
Mate.

Deacon has always been a perfectionist and he will admit that. But a chance meeting in a Norfolk alley with a drool-worthy, dirty blonde-haired man, well, kinda man, puts paid to that. But...the next time they so meet, the gorgeous tantalising man whom he had first seen and now graciously takes into his home - is now badly burned, scars rack his chiselled body all for the eye to see.
Can Deacon stop being a perfectionist long enough in order to see what lies there right in front of him, and can Fess come to terms with the fact that his fated mate - is actually a man?
