Beth is a familiar. No, she isn't a cat; she's a human with dreams of being an assistant to a witch. She's done all of her basic studies, passed her competency exams, and is ready to brew up some magic with a witch. There's just one teensy problem: she can't get any witches to work with her. Maybe it's because she's a newbie. Perhaps it's because she's more suited to cuddling up with a good book than putting herself out there. It could even be because Beth finds most witches to be as intimidatingly pretty as they are powerful, and she can't help but get super awkward whenever a witch is around. Whatever the case, poor Beth just can't seem to find herself a witch. Still, it could be worse. Beth has her best friend Shayla, fellow familiar and trans woman, as well as Shayla's witchy girlfriend Ronnie to cheer her up. Together, the three of them are bound to come up with a functioning game plan... sooner or later. With her best friends at her back, a magical community full of quirky characters, and a coven full of freshly graduated (and terrifyingly pretty, oh no!) witches looking for unmatched familiars, Beth has plenty of opportunities to find herself a magical partner.
